Just grabbed an IRON HORSE mountain bike for a cool $140. My communte to work is about 30 min and transportation costs are now zero. feels pretty based. >haha fucking poorfag i get to exercise and lap up the schadenfreude of all these loser family faggots that are FORCED to get on their hands and knees and throatfuck the gas nozzle at the gas station because without a car they cant communte to work, and then they'll lose their job, and then their wife will divorce rape them, get custody of the kids, and half his assets.
Meanwhile, I'm getting solid cardio everyday, get to commute by trails for some of the way, and its even faster than public transportation. Imagine that.
fucking gasfaggots btfo >this doesnt effect me cuz i make a lot of money
you as an individual can never maintain every possible necessary component involved in long term maintenance of a bicycle, you will always be dependent on external systems and it gets worse the higher up in terms of technology you go. your feet will never fail you. no roads will bind you. no mountain to big. no journey too long if well prepared.

Yes, but I'm not poor, and the bike ride to my office is 15 minutes. I can also take a bus ride that's about 15 minutes, which is infinitely more luxurious than driving and paying for a parking spot, especially since only cute hipsters and latina maids ride the bus here.

Still below freezing with snow and ice patches everywhere where I live. Guess I'll start biking if gas prices are still fucked when it thaws some time in June.

biking is the most based to travel. super cheap and healthy.

Biking in the winter isn't that bad, unless you're in northern Minnesota or some shit. Just get ski gloves and ski googles and it's actually pretty alright.

i do deliveroo on the bike n shiii. like the aspect of no socializing , sometimes i smoke a lil weed before doing deliveries
I bike for pleasure on the weekend mornings after work. I could bike to work but id rather drive. I dont want to associate my bike with work.
I prefer to look at my bike, ride it and be stress free and ready to relax and exercise. I dont want to see my bike as the vehicle to work and dread going on it

Bought a bike last Memorial Day. Biked 15+ miles everyday that it was nice. Lost a lot of weigh and promptly put it back on due to Midwest winters starting on Halloween.

I did that even with a race bicycle at which point you really need to be fit and aware and have skills at drifting.
It's not even a problem with a fat tire bicycle and warm wear until it's *really* cold beyond some snow and ice and your breathing becomes more profoundly an issue.
> for a cool $140 I'm kinda over Shimano Tourney and the like. I don't need the utter topmost quality but if it's not at least a Deore/Acera or Nexus or something equivalent by other manufacturers it's all a bit too bothersome.

140usd is a good price for a good used bike, I am looking for a decent used ebike with a Bafang 750W mid drive motor, looks like maybe 1500usd used, though there are some ebikes now 1250usd new, but motors are wimpy 350W hub drive which overheat and cut out on hills
Modern disk brakes are fine tho? What's your problem with them...?
Nicholas Reyes
True, but I’m less dependent than a car fag.

How the fuck am I supposed to carry my tools to work on a bike? How the fuck am I supposed to travel 100+ miles a day to my jobs on a bike? How the fuck am I supposed to use roads that were built 100 years ago and have been neglected by both the state and the fed to get to jobs in a region that rains 9 months a year on a bike?
It's not about the negroes. It's about the weather and the road conditions. It would be suicide riding a bike here.

I never sit down lol

I rode all the time in highschool. A great bike was 500-1000 back then. Today the prices are outrageous. You have to spend 400 at least for a mediocre bike. A great bike is a few thousand. You are honestly better off buying something cheap like OP did and making some upgrades. Bikes are easy to build. I tore down and rebuilt my first bike at 13. It's more difficult with disc brakes now, but not much harder.

>How the fuck am I supposed to carry my tools to work on a bike? Backpack, luggage rack, trailer.
> How the fuck am I supposed to travel 100+ miles a day to my jobs on a bike? Could be done, but it's probably more of a job for a motorized bicycle.
> How the fuck am I supposed to use roads that were built 100 years ago and have been neglected by both the state and the fed Bicycles are among the best options in rough terrain. They can pretty much take paths that are otherwise accessible only on foot or with donkeys.
