The french culture cultivates hollow men and women, it breeds shallowness. We are the most hedonistic people in Europe. Everyone is miserable. The level of selfishness is through the roof, there is no sense of community whatsoever. France was so entrenched in Catholicism that when we took it down we took our souls down with it. There is a 200 years old hole in the heart of every french men and women that has been left by the beheading of Louis XVI. We have turned away from God to idolatry, we sacrifice our lives away for money, recognition and never find any meaning.
France is shallow, french people like to say that our culture is vibrant and rich, in reality it is dull and deadly. A boeuf bourguignon as good as it is doesnt replace Christ. Suicide is the leading cause of death among 15 to 35 years old. We have one the highest antidepressant consumption in the world.
There is no hope and the future is dark. The spiritual starvation is so old and profund i dont believe that it can be dealt with. People just chase desire after desire until they die, ruthlessly, it never stops, nobody contemplates, nobody serves any one, purposelessness is the norm. Our birthrate is high only because of our massive imigrant population. The republic has failed, Kierkegaard was right, not that it matters anymore.
