Ever heard of Knight Institute v. Trump? a bunch of twitter users sued him for blocking them on twitter, arguing that he was a public representative, and they were members of the public participating in the "new town square". A court agreed with them, and required him to unblock them. But then he appealed the decision, and that court upheld the previous ruling. And he did this all the way to scotus. But despite this case beginning in the first year of his presidency, and it having the ability to set a legal precedent that says social media platforms were town halls, where first amendment speech rights would be guaranteed, he purposefully delayed his appeal, all the way up until his final month in office. Then, the case was rendered moot, because he dropped his appeal right before scotus could make a decision. He was immediately banned by every social media platform he was on.
see, he did this on purpose, in coordination with the social media companies, and no one was the wiser. if he had just let the case proceed, censorship on most of the major social media platforms would've been gone forever.
