Well, for starters, no one is really regulating what kind of poison they use to make food or put directly in it.
Best thing you can do is eat Whole Foods. Things that don't get processed or mixed with preservatives. All of these things your body treats as foreign substances and it goes in to "OH SHIT" mode. It enflames, and losing weight becomes nearly impossible to do while eating normal grocery store "food".
Sometimes the best answers are the simplest, so I'll say it again: Whole Foods. You literally can't get fat while eating them.
