How do I quit Any Forums, reddit, facebook etc.forever?
I'm in good shape (ran 8 miles yesterday) and I know how to study, but whenever I have free time I just fill it with compulsively browsing something. If I block Any Forums and reddit, it's headlines and HN, and so on. I've been habitually then compulsively browsing forums since I was 10. It's like a cigarette addiction.
I had a wagie job for a while and worked hard enough that I got put in charge of other wagies, but the income/time ratio was garbage, so now i'm neet until my crypto money runs out. I've self taught a few different things, I just need to be able to spend my free time usefully.
I need my phone for work but im in the same boat as OP

But I'm good at illustration & programming. I can throw my phone away, but my interests are all engineering/tech related.
How do I make money in 2021 without looking at a screen? Trades are ok but I kinda want more than that.

Checked, I’m in the exact same boat brother. It’s tough. I’m a stay at home dad until my crypto money runs out too and my screen time is fucked as well. Wat do m8? Got any alpha on a 20X?

You don't. You need some other distraction or something to occupy your time. This is what a job and regular hobbies are for. But spending 16 hours of your waking day doing your hobby or passion is tough, you will inevitably have some down time.
I'm definitely on Any Forums too much, but I have two subreddits I follow and I use facebook marketplace, and that's it. Don't use the front page of reddit and don't use the social media part of facebook.
>How do I make money in 2021 without looking at a screen? why do people have such dumb questions like this go outside and see what people are doing?! what the hell, not difficult, go on indeed and just look at the job listings, there is tons of shit
Nathaniel Cox
lets stop using our phones and internet for the rest of this month, so that our brains recover from this, then we might come back but with rules we set and strictly follow how about that?

There is a Chrome extension that automatically unlikes and unfollows every page and every friend you have. You then have a blank page whenever you open Facebook no matter which device you use, it’s pretty comfy.

Ok, how do I make more than $22/hr that I did as a wagie manager? Every job I've applied to other than restaurants and retail never made it past resume screen. I don't think anyone has bothered to look at my github.

it doesn't stop the constant flow of memes on Any Forums.

Love this general.
My advice is this. Stop smoking, stop drinking, stop watching utter shit on the TV and laptop. Stop listening to fucking stupid music. Stop drinking coffee. Stop masturbating.
Restrict calorie intake. Become hungry. Go for a long walk.
Simulate what people call a pilgrimage. Start to find your default self. Figure things out.
Then, you can go onto developing real mental and physical fitness.

>Stop masturbating. Saved the hardest for last

> reddit, facebook etc.forever? just quit >4channel you are here forever
P.S. jist get a job. I got a demanding job, no way I can waste time online if I work 100hr workweeks. All I want is sleep.

>I get so easily distracted >I got a smartphone >Do any of you have any advice? >How do I break the cycle of just spending the entire day on a computer/phone screen? Make sure your technology exists in service to you and that you don't exist in service to your technology. Take a look at the Amish approach to assessing tech as a boon or bane to the community. They use some modern technology (e.g., a sect may use cellphones for business but keep them out of the home) but they use it cautiously, with each sect deciding on how a given technology might be made to serve the community: archive.md/5pWKj
Ditch your smartphone if you don't absolutely need it for work or school. Getting a wristwatch will minimize your excuses to look at your phone and getting a cheap single-purpose MP3 player will eliminate the chance of slipping up with smartphone usage should you desire music at the gym, while driving, etc. Get in the habit of not reflexively checking your phone as soon as a text or alert comes in, you'll find your focus interrupted less frequently and you'll find yourself browsing aimlessly less often--turn off all audio/vibrate alerts that aren't absolutely necessary to the task at hand if you find yourself unable to ignore them. There are browser extensions for keeping track of/limiting time spent on non-productive websites, such as StayFocusd and LeechBlock. Get a small pocket notebook to help replace some of your smartphone functions (a Rite in the Rain pad will survive several trips through the laundry).
Beyond that, you'll need to actually do something with your day. Read a book, improve your garden, train to fight, exercise for health, volunteer in your community, start a family, ....
You need to be the best you that you can be: we're building a better future and you're going to be part of it. While no man is perfect, every man has his part to play.
I'm not the other guy but leaving my phone in the other room while I'm working helps. I'll find myself unconsciously reaching for it like 7 times before I fully focus in. Shit is fucked.
