everybody loves to picture themselves as the hero. The truth of the matter is that it's probably more complicated than just good vs evil. However, the moral bankrupcy of the nazi leadership was objectively evil. They were willing to go to any lengths in order to keep up their powerbase. Not different from our current elites.
