and it's really sad that the most famous race centric movement in european history got race so wrong, on one side they didn't have genetic tests yet, but on the others they basically just spat back out the 19th century prussian propaganda and just added a racial spin to it, so even without genetic they should have know they were full of shit by just opening a history book

nation states are usually smaller than the race that makes them up, scenarios like germany and italy where a nation is made up of different ethnicities is more rare than a large ethnicitiy divided into smaller nations
