Is that ridiculous top protection even working or it's just a placebo thing to make the 80 IQ soldiers less scared?

It just holds cargo dummy.

Use to work, but not for this year stingers

lol, cope more ruskie

They're called cope cages/grills for a reason

it's like pic related

a tank just flew over my house

sometimes, although Hohols say missiles hits below it. They do hold cargo, so at least it has more fuction.

PUT CAGEEE

No

Why does it cover such a little portion of the tank?

they prevent tankers from escaping after it has been hit

I like the latest version.

Can wooden shields somehow fudge with shaped charges or it makes no diference?

Can’t send monke without the cage

UPGRADE THE WAR TRAIN GENERAL CLEPTOCOV

it helps against rockets that are meant to punch a tiny hole through armor before the main ordinance is forced through it.

They are there to make them easier to spot for javelin teams

It deflects Javelin and NLAW missiles back onto the nazi that fired them. Classic Russian ingenuity, a cheap simple solution to defeat $100,000 westcuck missiles

the top looks unscathed though, the crew probably survived

Pretty sure it's to make the tank crew feel more safe.

for real though, i think the cage is not the problem, the problem is the tank operators abandoning it when someone farts inside

Attached: 1646567847335.png (1528x1038, 776.9K)

Just put one big cage over Russia and then nobody will have to worry about NATO "surrounding" them.
I'll be expecting my Nobel Peace Prize, thank you.

It's not placebo, javelins are HEAT charges thus they lose effectiveness if they explode too soon and so do HE suicide drones and such

Because they understand what Javalin is trying to do. However, it has 3 targeting methods and the top only protects once or from one method of attack. It can give occupants a chance to get out or shoot back but ambushed by 2 and from different trajectories it’s doomed. Pretty expensive way to fight tanks though but it beats air and other better tanks in terms of cost.

bit would be a shame if NLAWs had a B mode that adjusted for these stupid cages

It's for grenades

That's a COPE CAGE according to wiki. Do not make fun of it.

Attached: ruski_cope_cage28.jpg (1000x609, 178.55K)

Yes it's working.

There's no footage of a single javelin hitting the top of that cage yet.

Attached: 1634241964947.jpg (1024x855, 44.18K)

Sure it is.

It improves morale. When something hits they are going to die before they realize it doesn't work.

You should already know the answer you warmongering disgusting jew

They understand what it's trying to do, and absolutely underestimated what it actually does.

well the cages would most likely mess with the tank's heat footprint. a top down attack with a javelin would most likely see the shift in heat and hit towards the back of the tank where the cages are not at.

the tank would still be destroyed, but the crew might survive as it'd be destroying the engine. Throwing chunks of wood on there would actually probably do a better job at disrupting shape charges; however, there are pre-detonators on javelins designed to blow through reactive armor which would most likely destroy the wood/metal cages before the main missile hits.

This would definitely help against RPG attacks from roof tops, assuming you have god tier aim. But are they even using RPG's? I saw a few pictures of ukrainians using SMAWs, but almost no RPG pictures.

It's to stop Javelin missiles which have been BTFO'ing Russian tanks all over the place by targeting the vulnerable top of the tank

Attached: 1646773413548.png (1031x529, 128.59K)

Why would i know?

Nigger the turret is literally 2 meters from where it should be.

Soviet tanks throw their turrets because they store ammo in the fighting compartment, if it detonates, the pressure sends off the slavshit escape pod, with the crew inside in a fine red mist form to be more compact.

Can wooden doors be gas-tight though?

>sometimes,
never

lmao
THE ABSOLUTE STATE

Attached: protect monke.jpg (200x180, 41.34K)

So many Tussian tanks have been hit with Javelins that zero videos of an attack have been posted.

Half you retards have no idea how anti-tank missiles work, do you?

They hit their intended target and create a type of 'jet' that basically dumps hell into the vehicle. These cages are supposed to trick the missle into thinking they hit the top of the tank and then go off prematurely.

Attached: bonus.png (393x833, 541.75K)

Russian military doctrine is hilarious, soldiers are regarded as disposable flesh sacks

does absolutely nothing lol

This is to protect the machinegun guy from throwable projectiles when he's up there. These cages were mainly used in the Ukrainian Civil War on both sides, because civilians were throwing all sorts of things at tanks from their commieblock windows.

When Russia invaded you for giving assistance you will get raped, screenshots muh funny lol!

This got me at the right moment

>Because they understand what Javalin is trying to do.
They don't. that shit is useless agaisnt the power of a javellin

>meant to keep explosions away from crew
>doesn't work for missiles
Is there some sort of confusion here?

Is this your first war ? When Russian tanks get turret penetrated their turrets fly up the sky because their autoloader belt makes a circle of munitions around the neck of the turret and upon explosion you get the Soviet space program experience
This looks like the tank caught on fire because it got struck in the engine, the crew is probably alive

Might work vs basic PG-7 RPG warhead but the Javelin has a tandem HEAT warhead with 4x the explosive and the roof of the tank is the thinnest part of the armor leading into the crew compartment

Attached: 1646615226743.jpg (960x720, 88.08K)

Yes we know, the key is in “supposed to”, the missiles were obviously designed with spaced-armour in mind considering it’s literally been used since WW2

Basically it's as helpful as this.

Attached: istock_kasvomaski.jpg (880x582, 159.98K)

Very unlikely.

Attached: ruski_mechanic.png (1528x1034, 677.19K)

inverse squared rule, it could work but IDK how well it does

Attached: 346234572345.jpg (819x547, 140.28K)

>and then go off prematurely.
you don't seem to know anything about it either memeflag. The javellin explodes above the tank cooking the amunition inside that eventually explodes.
The cope cages are actually useless

>it's real

Attached: 1646078945611.png (310x286, 107.87K)

javelins are specifically designed to cut through that shit, it has a tandem warhead with shaped charges, it was literally manufactured to rip that cope cage apart kek

>Javelin has a tandem HEAT warhead with 4x the explosive and the roof of the tank is the thinnest part of the armor

lol monkey retards
modern day warfare is drones dropping tiny bombs on equipment

this stops that
that's it
anti-drone tech
doesn't need to be much, the drones only got gravity to work with

monkey retards why did I read a whole thread before anyone said this
huh chimps
answer me

cute

Damn they have flying tanks now?

What counteracts javelins?
