If you're referring to the internet era, the last of the "classic" period died when Prodigy classic went offline around November of 1999. Things were slightly faster for a few years after that and there still weren't many normies until around 2004 - 2005. That was the beginning of the end. Once 2007 hit, Facebook exploded and iphones became the norm, the internet turned to absolute shit and has only gotten exponentially worse since then.
