Back in around '89 when I was in junior high we had Russian junior high hockey players come to our city to play against our teams and to get a little vacation of sorts. They stayed at our homes while they were here and were treated like rock stars. They were cool kids. Buying blue jeans and bubble gum to bring back home with them. They were giving out these little pins with various designs, flags, hockey themed etc. You were very lucky to get one of these pins. I miss those days when the world wasn't such a clusterfuck.

I’ve met Russians in central Europe. Politics never comes up. Everyone gets along fine. Same with about everyone else. Saudis can be a bit rude. While Iranians are very friendly. That was opposite of what I expected. Granted, Saudis tend to be on vacation and Iranians tend to be expats.
