Current events and recent history show that being prepared is more important now than ever. Everyone can prep, starting is easy. How I got started with food preparation:
20 pounds of beans 20 pounds of rice 20 pounds of pasta 20 cans of meat/fish (DEENZ) 20 cans of fruit 20 cans of vegetables Only buy/store what you eat. Date everything with the month/year. Rotate and replace what you consume.
Light, heat, and humidity are the enemies of your foods shelf life, food quality, and nutrition.
You're right, many have a very short shelf life, but I stock up when it's on sale. I prefer dried herbs and spices on most things, the shelf life is much longer too.
Seriously tho, good effort. I wish I had the space and willpower and time to prep a bit.

What is the best combination of items to get to put together a short term emergency supply on 200 dollars or less? Help me out fren.

You can get a few years out of those before they go bad. Me? I've stocked up on a few kilograms of pancake mix and canned soups. Some other stuff, such as pasta and some frozen veggies and meat. I can't be arsed to maintain a large pantry, but at least I'd be good for a month or so with what I have.

>eating canned food for more than once a year... What an utterly disgusting nightmare

i have about one of those shelves full of canned food myself. i'm by myself so i have a hard time justifying having more unless all i eat is canned food. i can only manage eating a can a week to keep a rotation going.

How much did this cost you? Im thinking of doing the same. Or maybe i dont need to in uae?
Get a large bag of rice. It can extend MANY of your meals, bowl of rice and put some beef stew soup over the top of it. Just be sure you're storing your stuff properly. Mice especially will fucking destroy just about anything that isn't properly put away.

I've been growing food and home canning it for almost 10 years now. If you have the money to blow you can just get some freeze dried food and call it good.
I can't really put a price tag on it, Every payday I buy what we've eaten, and a little extra. Rotating stored food is key.

Bumping a good thread. I started prepping food seriously a couple years ago and I have about a years worth for my family. Not to mention guns, ammo, and silver. Feels good.

I live in a rural county with less than 1% niggers. I won't be posting anything tactical. Just trying to help my frens be motivated to focus on what's genuinely important, and share some knowledge here and there.
Not in the U.S., fren. Unless you're citified, and then it's Escape From L.A.
