This. It might tank russia's economy for a few years but it has drastically decreased the lifespan of the dollar. With Russia controlling such vast oil supplies and Saudi Arabia overtly discussing other alternatives to the petrodollar, the US has kind of given up its reserve currency status. It's going to be interesting to see the next years in monetary policy for sure.
