I'm a lefty and I watched his 1 hour something on the wests responsibility for the crimean conflict. He's pretty good. Basically he's very much into realpolitk and think a lot of people just can't seem to fathom that Putin really is this old time warmonger. So they will act like it'd be unthinkable to act like Putin does and then not be ready for when it actually happens. The way they'll act convinced they need to resist Russia but when the question comes up "how?" they do the NPC frowny face.
He wished people worked harder to set up so Ukraine was a stable neutral country that Russia's regime could feel safe under but that obviously haven't happened.
So for me, I think his perspective seems reasonable but it's hard not to be one of those western cucks that smell blood and want to stop Putin but I have no idea how possible that is or what tools we have. He could just be a bitter boomer that doesn't really have a place in modern politics and maybe current leaders know shit we don't or hey, maybe they are out of touch and he knows the sauce. I'm not really qualified to say. One thing I can see is that all sources I had who talked about the potential Russian invasion never envisioned all its failures and the heavy sanctions so I mean, it's not all going according to predictions.
