Could the United States/NATO actually implement a "No Fly Zone" in Ukraine?

Who would actually win in a fight between the Russian and NATO air-forces?

The top American jets are the:

F-35 (never been in combat)
F-22 (never been in combat)
Eurofighter (never been in combat)
F-15 (100-0 combat record but 40+ years old platform)

The top Russian Jets are the:

Su-57 (new and hardly any built)
Mig-35 (new and hardly any built)
Mig-29 (Soviet staple)
Su-27 (More of a bomber escort)

these modern aircraft require airports
those would be bombed out
also SAMs

so, in the end, the one that has more cruse missiles and long range artillery winds

our old Mirages would be enough against these pos lacking maintenance

Which side is the Ghost of Keev's on?

I think stealth would be the biggest factor. I think if Russia could see the F-35's they could probably shoot them down. If not they would be fucked.

Probably not the Russians, as we've seen, their training is up to the standard of militaries in active multi-national conflict such as Britain and America.

Think he was in a MIG

Great analysis: "If they can see the enemy, they will try to destroy them".
I'm glad you gave such great insight into this.

He wasn't in anything because it was a combat simulator game.

You have to go through the anti-air and anti-rocket defense to bomb anything. Besides, Europe is small and NATO has flying tankers, so planes can operate from long behind the frontline.

The rumors are that russia is not using their newest jets, because they don't have a lot of guided munitions. If it is true, they are essentially useless in air-to-air combat.

Their AA, while good, is still prone to jamming and produces radar signatures (that are actually used now to tell Ukrainians where ruskie AA is not active, so they can send their planes/drones), which makes them prone to tactical missiles.

If anything, I would expect NATO to wipe the floor with ruskies.

Belgium could even inforce a no-fly zone against this ancient equipment.

To be fair, 'Ghost of Kyiv' is probably an entire squadron, not a single person.

No. Too many civilian with anti-aircraft weapons.

Friendly fire will 100% happen.

No

european airfields are in the range of russians conventional missile. and no european nation want strikes on their airfields. so no. the concept is not feasable.
and im not even talking nuclear options or a full scale ground war.

I'm saying I don't think the F-35's could shoot down newer model MIG-29's. They have a worse thrust to weight ratio and slower and arguably less maneuverable and would lose unless their stealth could save them.

>Compared to both the Su-27 and the MiG-29, the F-35 is grossly inferior in terms of wing loading (except for the F-35C), transonic acceleration, and thrust-to-weight. All F-35 variants also have significantly lower maximum speeds, Mach 1.6 for the F-35 compared to Mach 2.2 for the Su-27 and Mac 2.3 for the MiG-29.

It’s pretty difficult to control the airspace of a country when you don’t own the ground. It’s really only feasible if that country’s airspace isn’t already controlled by someone else. Even the Serbs figured out they could paint tanks on dirt and paint dirt on tanks and the bombs are harmless.

Yes but it won't happen because it would mean nukes

>I'm saying I don't think the F-35's
F-35 is not designed to dogfight. It's a semi-stealth weapon platform.

>american jet
>eurofighter

15 Rafales would wreck their entire air force.

yes.

At this point poland alone could steamroll russia.

But Putler has nukes so a noiflyzone is a nono.

Gotta be some kind of joke question at this point. Russians struggling with supremacy as it is with this tiny country. Whether they take Ukraine or not, they will be considered just a fkn zerg hive with a shitty military at this point.

True the F-22 is supposed to be Americas top dogfighter, but honestly when you watch videos of it it doesn't look all that impressive or maneuverable and there were rumors in the past of them losing to Eurofighters in combat trainings. But supposedly they can win with a record of like 9-1 in trainings against an F-15 due to their stealth but who knows if that's true.

great state of the art planes you got there
be a shame if someone took a russian rocket from a museum aimed it with a microwave and blasted one out of the sky

well that NATO faggot already said a million times they won't do it, so hard to say, also why does Ukraine need a No-Fly Zone? don't they have like a bazillion AA weapons?

The rooskies already implemented a no fly zone in Ukraine.

Don't know and don't care. America needs to be declared a no-nigger zone, though.

could they shoot down some russian planes with impunity? probably

could they actually enforce a 24/7 no fly zone with out taking casualties? no way
