There is still a large amount of manufacture in the USA. The issue, is that what is here typically has to target the wealthier portion of our population. The RV industry is a good example. They are built right here in the USA, but to make the margins on them they have to be expensive.
The only reason we dont build simple things like toasters and such here is because people are fine with slave labor, as long as they cant see it.
