Why is Russia just accepting the sanctions and not reacting? Why is Putin such a cucklord? He should be retaliating Europe by turning off the gas and watching the world burn. Why hasn't he done this? Russia and Russians are being cancelled by the entire world and he just sits and does nothing.
Why is Russia just accepting the sanctions and not reacting? Why is Putin such a cucklord...
God shes so cute I would rape her
>Why is Russia just accepting the sanctions and not reacting?
Because the sanctions are making them richer.
He needs the gas money as much as Europe needs the gas.
You favelanigger still don’t get it.
Cause sanctions are good dummy
Western neoliberal influence is cancer
They’ll have to innovate around sanctions
It’s a great incentive to develop their own industry to replace western cancer with something better
>Why is Russia just accepting the sanctions and not reacting?
1/2
Because they don't really have a means of reacting.
>He should be retaliating Europe by turning off the gas
This would be doable if not for the fact that Russia depends on exporting gas to Europe at least as much as Europe depends on importing Russian gas, if not more so. After all, there are other places where Europe could get gas, but not a lot of other places where Russia could sell gas at the same rate.
That's the fundamental problem with having an economy that's more or less based around the export of a single product. The rebellion against the Union learned this same lesson in the 1860s, they had an economy based primarily around the export of cotton to Britain and France, cotton being very important for industrial processes of the time as well as for manufacture of cotton-based goods, and so when the Civil War began and the Union imposed a blockade on rebel-held ports, preventing cotton export, the rebellion believed that Britain and France would intervene in order to re-establish the cotton trade.
On paper this should have been easy; there's no doubt that either the British or the French alone, nevermind both of them together, could have swept aside the Union's navy and defeated the Union's army.
What happened instead was:
1. France was mired in its own foreign adventures in Mexico, as well as its own local concerns in Europe, and was not willing to get involved in the Confederate's plight without Britain's backup.
2. Britain depended upon Southern cotton, but it also depended upon Northern grain, and in the balance it was easier to just accept a dearth of Southern cotton imports for a few years and develop alternate sources of cotton in Egypt and India, then it would have been to go to war for Southern cotton and lose access to Northern grain. Eating is a hard habit to break.
cont'd...
The sanctions are crippling and hurt Russia and Russians.
>It’s a great incentive to develop their own industry to replace western cancer with something better
That's a myth. You need cooperation between countries.

If Russia shuts off the gas, it loses overwhelmingly its largest source of income: European markets. While other nations in the world certainly would LIKE access to Russian gas, they can't necessarily afford to buy it, and certainly not at the level of Europe.
And at the other end of the spectrum, if Russian gas is shut off, there is a serious risk that Europe will determine that it makes more sense to endure a bit of pain now in exchange for pushing America and other nations to start increasing gas harvesting and gas exporting. Europe has deep pockets and plenty of oil-producing nations - America, Canada, the various Middle Eastern nations, Libya, Nigeria, Venezuela, Mexico - would love to get more access to them.
Now mind you to some extent this is already happening. Europe has realized how crippling its dependence on Russian oil is and there's every indication that Europe intends to diversify its energy market so that it can't be held captive by Russia. But even still, at least at the moment, Russia stands to lose a lot more from shutting off the gas than Europe does from having the gas shut off.
>You need cooperation between countries.
Well, you don't *need* it...but North Korea is not an example anyone should be looking towards.
>to diversify its energy market
Will Europe stop being retarded and finally go nuclear?
TL;DR - as a general rule, it's easier for buyers to find other sources than it is for sellers to find other markets.
I joined Any Forums how's that for reaction?
God I hope so. Nuclear power is the only viable alternative energy source.
Although credit where it's due, France derives about 70% of its energy from nuclear power. It's an excellent example of how nuclear power can be safe and effective.
>Oh no, they're cut off from Disney, netflix, and only fans!
Nobody cares.
>Why is Russia just accepting the sanctions and not reacting?
How long they can keep those sanctions?
>How long they can keep those sanctions?
I assume for as long as they want.
They're also cut off from SWIFT and by my math have had about 1/4 of their total wealth as a nation frozen with serious consideration given to it being outright seized.
Putin's a whitehat.
Get it through your head.
What you need is trust. That is what makes a venture (financial or any other kind) successful. Trust is the one commodity Russia has never had.
Russia and Iran sell to China. The US can't sanction China because the US is a debtor/service economy with less industry every year.
