“leftism” is a hoax. it does not exist.

state capitalism like China is not leftism.

state socialism, something no modern state has ever tried, is too authoritarian to be leftist.

today's “left” agrees with notions of national welfare. American “leftists” only care about empire to the extent that it does not interfere with their goal of introducing state capitalism with more welfare into the US public sector. they are all fine with the imperialist hegemon they benefit from. this contradicts classical “leftist” theories.

“leftists” are right wingers. the primary debate today is what kind of right winger you are. this is also why extreme “leftists” and “right wingers” tend to horseshoe into one another. they are two wings of the same deluded extremism.

(I do not mean to say that the horseshoe theory is universally applicable, as it would be useless in a world that actually had leftists instead of merely the “left side” and the “right side” of an ultimately right-wing approach to societies based on statism.)

I disagree with this.

there are no ''leftists'' in America. with the exception of identity politics there is little difference between them and what is considered right wing.
