I work in IT and unironically half of my social circle is from the Luhansk area or from Russia. My gf is from Kharkov and her friends are ukrainain. In general they were all cheering the invation a week ago, it all turned sombre as soon as Kharkov's pictures were shared and some of my ukranian friends had to evacuate their respective families. It stroke me as odd since all these ppl were super pro-military intervention, just wtf did they expect would've happened?

i am from the far east (near vladivostok) so we are really far away from them, but Ukraine is Russia, they'll seethe for some time and get over it, like Chechens did.

The majority doesn't care. At my job, people are more concerned about Gucci store being temporarily closed, lmao. When it come to Ukraine, people tend to say smth like: "I don't have anyone there but I guess they are in a bad position" or "My husband is there fighting, let him return home, God, pls" and people just go to their usual chatting or discussing work events.
Btw one of my colleague's husband has called today and told that he is safe and returning to his base in Russia.
