How is Russia having any kind of difficulty invading Ukraine. I understand that if bombing 95% of the country along with the people this would probably already be over. But aren't Russia-China-USA like the trifecta of military power that can only be compared to each other and every other country is non-existent. Or is this Russia's vietnam?
Explain like I'm 5 how is this not already over
Russia has annexed Ukraine, but the media won’t tell you that yet. But this is just the beginning my fren. Russia will invade all non nato and EU countries. He’s consolidating resources and land for the start of the war with NATO. Everyone is just trying to prevent the nukes from flying rn while letting him do his thing, but it is coming..
They have taken the areas they want and aren't progressing further. They are essentially goading Ukraine to push them back and/or get foreign powers to help them at which point Russia will escalate. But none of that will happen because it's unnecessary, Russia already has the areas it wants and is just playing a waiting game until Ukraine surrenders or a referendum is held in those areas to become Russian or independent - something like that
Russia wants to keep the stuff they are taking over, so they aren't going to just bomb everything to smithereens.
Probably other reasons that the public won't ever know of things happening.
Oooga ooga
Russia has big army, BIGU, like 1 mil big
>10k+ Russians died in Jewkraine
Ooogaa ooogaa where da rest?
a war against the 2nd biggest country in europe, with the 2nd largest military in europe, with a population of 50 million people, and with weapons and supplies pouring in from nato, isnt going to end in a week
especially since russians are only using 200k out of their 900k+ army, using their shitty soviet era equipment instead of modern tech they used in syria, and attempting to minimize civilian casualties
Oooga ooga

Ooga ooga nigger faggot
>aren't Russia-China-USA like the trifecta of military power that can only be compared to each other and every other country is non-existent
lol Russia and China fucking wish.
The USA is in a league of its own, then Russia, China, the UK and France are all in the same tier. China has a clear lead on the other three but they're still comparable forces. The rest of the world has been wondering for a long time just how good Russia's forces actually are - obviously they're inclined to exaggerate their military capabilities, but by how much?
Turns out, by a lot. Two weeks ago most analysts would have ranked Russia as slightly more powerful than the UK and France, but now it's clear that despite attempts to modernise their old Soviet weapons over the last eight years, their equipment is still mostly junk. They're having trouble moving further into Ukraine because their logistics just aren't up to scratch - trucks are getting burst tires or engine problems, roads are getting clogged because of poor organisation, none of the Russian forces seem to know what the fuck they're doing because only the senior commanders were told they were participating in an actual invasion.
Russia also has not prepared well for Ukrainian resistance. They seem to have assumed that they were facing more or less the same crapbucket that allowed them to steal Crimea so easily eight years ago; the plan seems to have been that the sheer weight of Russian forces would shatter the defenders morale. They also seem to have been counting on Ukraine being a lot more divided between pro- and anti-Russian factions. They have massively underestimated Ukraine; unlike Russia, Ukraine actually has modernised its forces. Russian logistics are being further complicated by the fact that their vehicles are being decimated by Ukrainian drones; some are NATO donations but a lot were bought relatively cheaply from countries like Turkey. The Russians don't seem to have planned for this at all, despite us all having an object lesson in this shit in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict last year.
And finally, Russia seems to have totally underestimated the NATO response as well. Russian opsec is apparently terrible. NATO knew well in advance that Russia was planning a full-scale invasion, and it finally prompted them to give Ukraine a lot of the tech it's been begging for for the last eight years. If Russia was not prepared to face a modernised Ukrainian army, it sure as shit was not prepared to face a Ukrainian army equipped with latest-gen NATO weaponry. Ukraine's own drones can take out light vehicles like trucks and a few APCs, but Russian tanks were still secure against them. But now the Ukrainians have Javelin missiles, from whose point of view Russian tanks are merely quaint antiques. And they've got Stinger ground-to-air missiles too now, which is why Russia's airforce is not having the devastating impact it should have.
So everyone suspected that Russia's military was something of a paper tiger already. This just confirms it.
Are you aware that the Vietnam War lasted 10 years?
How is Belgium not already annexed but the dutch, french, or krauts? I'm saying that as a descendant of a French loving Belgian.
>train for war for your whole life
>get shot by 15 year old doing a tiktok dance
It is understandbale that you don't undastan cuz you is a Belgium Waffle. Here is all youse need to no bout this conflick.
Ukraine is like Harry Potter, and American Taxes and IRS are like Voldemort. When you go to war with Russia its like finding out that Dumbeldore is gay and George Lucas sold the rights to Disney (they're the bad guys!). This means that Family Guy episodes will take longer to make cuz they cant get low enough gas to fill up their Teslas.
Did that make any sense?
New AT weapons have arrived!
>not including japan which has a massive modern navy and a large modern airforce.
US>China>Russia>or=Japan>India=France=UK=Israel>everyone else by a substantial margin.
for reference to Japan, they have 22 modern attack submarines, 4 light carriers (with f35s and attack helicopters operating from them), 3 light amphibious assault ships which can also operate VTOL/helis, and 46 destroyers/frigates ranging from something like a littoral combat ship, right up to ships which are on par with flight iia burkes. their airforce also consists of over 250 modern combat aircraft, mostly f-15s and f-16s, but also a growing number of f-35s and modern drones. japan has quietly re-militarized over the last few years and it's quite the force now.
Someone clearly told you you were funny once and you still haven't realised they were just being nice.
Russia has been extremely careful to not disturb or harm the population, just look at the beginning of the operation when Ukrainian protestors were Russian vehicles. Russia could easily turn every city into rubble but they don't want to deal with a mass insurgency, however this is coming at the price of higher casualties and a slower advance.
JUST IN
Another Russian heli downed

But no nukes. That was the main reason I left them out. But you're right that Japan it now on it's way to being a major world power again.
I still think the UK and France are roughly on the same tier as Russia, even with recent cutbacks.
She has no difficulties. She is just trying to win hearts and minds not destroying the country or hurting civvies.
Why thank you bonger! I appreciate the compliment!
