Nobody here buys Microsoft products, but everyone uses them. Riddle me this Bill Gayts.
I've been using Linux distros since 2013 and I'm baffled that people are still willing to stick to Microsoft's bullshit
same although only since 2019
not sure if linux is a wise answer to them since its likely backdoored but im baffled about why there has been no serious attempt at building an alternative
Most Russians will just keep on pirating M$ products.
Same.
Been using debian since 2008. I have no idea why people use windows other than it's just what there company uses.
>microsoft-suspends-russia-sales-ukraine-conflict/
Oh noooos.
This is a good thing
I switched around the same time, I rage whenever I'm forced to use windows. I could never go back
>backdoored
>open source
ok, then find me the backdoor nigger.
>since its likely backdoored
Maybe the kernel? But still the community is quite open to alert when that kind of stuff happens. And if you have disdain at using closed source stuff, then Arch or Fedora are better options
phew guess I won't have to worry about windows 10 not having a pirated version
They don’t know the option is there
>THIS JUST IN
>All Linux sales and services have been CANCELLED in RUSSIA in response to the WAR
What now Ivan????????
Learned helplessness. Tech cuckoldry. "Muh gaymes!"
but linux is free...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It's GNU/Linux Sales btw
Its not like we pay for Microsoft products anyway lol. And we gona use it anyway pay-free
>Any Forums unable to comprehend why people still use Windows
>meanwhile, Any Forums is bullying Linux users while sticking to Windows
What the hell happened?
You don't understand how this works. It's open source. There is no need to buy anything, you just download the source code and compile it if you can't get a binary distro.
this
sorry we don't have that much money to waste it on pajeets shitcode
Shills happened
Any Forums doesn’t bully Linux users
NOOOOOO NOT THE HECKING CIA MASS SURVAILANCE OPERATING SYSTEMERINOOO
>Any Forums
Nu-Any Forums is a Any Forums colony
Any Forums is full of paid Microsoft and Apple shills.
Only for the free world, land of lakes.
Thank you for the correction GNU/Brother.
Bill Gates himself has issued a lock on all Ubuntu binaries so that Russians cannot compile them on their computers. However if they switch their language to Ukrainian it might let them through.
Xbox bros...
They are free to download, retard. They just sell your data.
All internet dissent will be funneled to Any Forums
Microsoft's strength comes from MS Office, not their OS. It became the standard for much of white collar work.
>I've been using Linux distros since 2013 and I'm baffled that people are still willing to stick to Microsoft's bullshit
The problem with linux is that its completely nonfunctional.
Russians are dumb then. You are knowingly using a backdoored enemy countries OS. Stick to Linux
>We are announcing today that we will suspend all new
>new
So basically since government make contract in the beginning of the year it's nothingburger?
If Linux had full Steam library compatibility, I would've switched long ago. That's the only reason to stay at this point.
mutt we have different way. Government copyrighted code and called it astra linux
What distros should I try? I need Gotomeeting and RDP for work, and I play WoW and Steam games once in a while. I tried out Arch and different flavors of Ubuntu back when Wine barely worked but I know that it has come a long way. I'd preferably like something with the potential of being very customizable, but also completely usable out-of-the-box, so no Arch/Gentoo etc. I've used i3 and really like it, and I liked Gnome 2. I have a kid and generally only have a couple of hours of free time on the weekends, so I don't have time to dick around with it a bunch.
baste
shots fired
no you dont
drop it and embrace linux asap
right? fuck Any Forums, only /linux/ and /emacs/ are based over there
The minute you start needing niche software, you dont have the time for troubleshooting and want something that just works and isnt a shitty alternative with stubborn tranny devs.
>he thinks XP and jailbroken Win 7 is contacting microsoft servers
lol
Youd be closer to the truth if you said Intel and AMD chips have a backdoor melted into the chip
How so. If you want a just werks Linux, there's Ubuntu and even Mint if you like the Windows cock
Valve is shilling the Steam Deck hard (it uses Arch Linux) and has been really trying to make it almost 100% compatible.
This works because of Proton, which is a fork of Wine, a compatibility layer for Linux that allows you to run windows programs. Proton and Wine also help each other to improve so, even if Valve bans Steam in Russia, Ruskies can still get the benefits if they install Wine
hopefully russia will contribute to source code to make it secure and replace all the sjw idiots that tried to kick linus out of the linux project
not true at all
Same, except since 2007 when Microshit released Vista. No idea why people kept using that garbage past that point. Windows users can't be classified as sentient beings.
Is that Breakfast Club?
Steam Deck will make there be no real excuse to not use Linux
i do use arch but i still need windows for bing bang wahoos and fl studio unfortunately
Yep. Good progress so far. Almost free of Bill Gaytes' shit products.
they can potentialy includ stuff in future updates that`ll make impossible for windows to work in russia. So either way, its finished. Most companies are switching off Windows or at least blocking updates and stuff.
Its inevitable that soon Linux will be main PC platform and on phones, hopefully either Huawei OS or our own.
apt-get purge globohomo
I use linux mint now but i used xubuntu since 2018
dd if=/dev/zero of=/globohomo
You could try endeavourOs:
endeavouros.com
It's Arch Linux at it's core and there is an i3 flavour. Also get Lutris for an easy WoW install:
lutris.net
The HTML5 version of Gotomeeting should work on Linux.
