I've seen quite a bit of analysis from Russians (who are very much pro Putin and anti Ukraine) comparing this to Israel's invasion of Lebanon to fight Hezbollah back in the 2000's. They're saying they're seeing parallels between Israel's early failures and Russia's now, and how it will lead to a defeat/retreat just like the Israelis.
