That was not my experience at all. Everybody went hyper focused robot. Not in the sense of being brave macho heroes but literally just doing or attempting to do what we were trained on. I shot somebody on the same day that I aided and carried a guy bleeding pale and I didn’t really have any emotions aside from stressing to accomplish whatever my immediate task was at the moment.
I guess it hits people different but that was how everybody around me rolled during the heaviest engagements.
