history is replete with nations that went alone and fought to the bitter end, Hitler being the easiest example. Don't think you can control history with your theories and hypotheticals.
Russia is a country armed to the teeth with civilization destroying weapons.
Americans used to understand this, until the neocons completely took over and thought their moral crusade was worth risking the lives of billions of people just for some symbolic gains.
>Russia is a country armed to the teeth with civilization destroying weapons. >I have to live 30 more years under Puitin End it.

We've seen no evidence the Ukrainians or the Russians were shelling the power plant, instead we've seen BMPs firing their canons, guys unloading small arms and RPGs and Russians getting hit by AT missiles.
this is only the prelude. We are about to see Syrian civil war-tier atrocities for the next 1-3 months, maybe some chemical/nuclear weapons as well.

They can learn from the mistake. Russia's current mistake is to not commit the full force into Ukraine and turn it into a dragged out war instead of a 3 days matter. Also Taiwan is a much smaller place than Ukraine. Also they can always use CIPS instead of SWIFT, while just seizing all the western corpo who decided to withdraw from China.
