The soldiers are incredibly demotivated because they're being forced to kill their cousins and nephews, and oligarchs have bled the country dry of its wealth, the military hardware hasn't been upgraded since the 1980s. Meanwhile all the money that was meant to go to the military has instead been siphoned off to billionaire's private yachts. Corruption has real consequences
