Cargo ship with 4,000 Porsches, Audis, Bentleys and Lamborghinis sinks in Atlantic ocean

>A burnt-out cargo ship carrying thousands of luxury cars, including Porsches and Bentleys, sank on Tuesday off the Portuguese Azores archipelago nearly two weeks after it caught fire, a port official said.

>Joao Mendes Cabecas, the captain of the nearest port on the island of Faial, told Reuters the Panama-flagged Felicity Ace had sunk as efforts to tow it began due to structural problems caused by the fire and rough seas.

>"When the towing started... water started to come in," he said. "The ship lost its stability and sank."

>The blaze on the ship carrying around 4,000 vehicles made by Volkswagen Group from Germany to the United States, broke out on Feb. 16. The 22 crew members were evacuated on the same day.

>Volkswagen, which said last week the damage to the vehicles was covered by insurance, confirmed the ship has sunk. Insurance experts said the incident could result in losses of $155 million.

oh look insurance fraud of 155 million dollars by Volkswagen

>could result in losses of $155 million
I did the math and the average cost of a car seems to be $38,750.
So I assume the vast majority of them were Audis.

>the ship carrying around 4,000 vehicles made by Volkswagen Group
and nothing of value was lost

Buy volkswagen stocks now when it dips.

Man i miss working on a ship.

Thread theme.

insurance pays manufacturing price not MSRP

AAHHAAHHAHAHAHA YEEEEEEEEEEESSSS
YEEEEEESSSSSS
FUCK THE EU!

i bet fucking russia torpedoed them

are these all of the cars that had to be used with dated molds and parts that didn't require as many circuit boards and electronics while they were waiting for covid to be over?

good thing this accident happened and the free money for all of the VWs that had manual locks so next year they can replace it with the updated versions

the stock is down but it's probably because of the production halts due to ukraine and not this, since they were insured.

It was mostly VW Group, so there were Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley....

Yeah, because we don't get to import the poverty spec cars.

A German engineer decided to ship all the cars in one boat...

Euros taking "not my problem" to a new level.

Hahaha. Fuck your german shitwagons. Pick your shitty cars up off the ocean floor, your krautpolluten my unterseabed

How easy is it to tow this ship out of the depth of the ocean?

I have a bmw that’s probably worth $500, it needs about $50,000 worth of dealership repair
