Russia's economy may very well on its path to being FUBAR, but the war itself is going extremely well for Russia. I know that the daily mail gets flak for being unreliable and over the top, but this is the best analysis I've yet to read. I think everyone should read this.

It's been a pass/fail education test from the beginning. Nobody with any background in history who also knows even the basics of events in Ukraine going back to 2014 buy into Western hysteria and social media meltdown over this, and wish Russia the best in achieving what are obviously legitimate national security goals.

The West, for example, dismisses the value that Russians place on protecting the rights and security of ethnic Russians throughout the former Soviet republics. They have never heard of South Ossetia and have no idea what Russia are willing to do in this regard.

Credit the West and especially the United States with the new concept of "hysterical ignorance." You can't even find peace in not knowing what's going on anymore. They won't let you.

I don't think the west (and by that I mean the leadership) is miscalculating NOW, it's just not particularly interested in doing anything for Ukraine, it's not interested to that level. I've seen some people put it as

I mean, it's not like it's costing them much at this point. Sure they would have preferred if the Ukraine to OTAN bluff wasn't called but getting a rival busy in war and forcing some economic pressure isn't such a bad deal for them. I'm pretty interested in some possible economic realignment, like what are China and India going to do, what's going to happen with energy in the EU (SWIFT sanctions aren't going there but who knows what can happen with prices).

Never forget what Ukrainians did to drive Motorola and Givi into giving literally everything to protect their people. The video of Givi smoking and not giving a shit about the shelling is because it was just part if life for him.
Ukrainian army are the bad guys, they've been killing civilians for 8 years and they'll be put on a show trial like Nuremberg. No surprise they're fighting with civvies as meat shields because they know Russia will deliver them justice.
