putin doesnt want / need to capture kiev.
he only wants the population in the East of Ukraine. kiev would be a bonus, which he hoped could be got in 24 hours. but now he will encircle. starve. and use to bargin in a peace where he keeps easern ukraine.
About a week for kiev possibly sooner. They're going to need to contend with infiltrators to secure the woods and the outskirt areas if they want to hold everything east of the river.
