A private clinic under capitalism will always have more funds allocated by other rich capitalists and the ruling class (which lives from the capitalists paycheck) will pass laws to make socialized healthcare more and more difficult, slow and unprofitable, forcing people to "choose" the expensive but quick private checkups, clinics and so on. It is not an issue of socialized medicine, it is the issue of private medicine. The USSR had fantastic healthcare, and Cuba does so too -- because all the funds actually go towards healthcare rather than some fat cats profit
