after the country disattaches itself from the western financial system it will function on a more eastern and chinese one. Will they lose half their purchasing power short term? Yeah probably. But that won't last. And a lot of the stuff Russia buys is domestic anyway so the citizens won't even suffer that much apart from international goods (tech and so on)
