If you were in the army you would know how uncomfortable army boots are and you have to spend whole day in them, socks wont save you from blisters that wont heal up becuase you have to march on the next day, but this unironically will.

Good for you, i changed few pairs never got one that fits perfectly, so the trick we used from our officers and older comrades is to order larger one and fill gaps with bandadged leg, never during my time serving i had problems with blister or trench foot and i was a border guard on some god forsaken mountain and i had to do patrols through knee deep muddy forest terrain, now 17 years later i get ptsd flashbacks during winter when i feel cold from that shitty place. Footwrapping is legit!

This. You should also be changing your socks every two or three hours to prevent trench foot. In the field, changing your socks that frequently can lead to running out of clean socks pretty quickly (I was issued eight pairs of socks when I was in), which means soldiers would have to improvise until they get a chance to clean their socks.
