Redpill me on the allegory of the cave

redpill me on the allegory of the cave

the guy above ground is redpilled

Something about play-doh. The play-doh allegory of the cave.

god is real

Don't bother everything is on fire out here and this big demon looking guy is a real dick

It’s complicated if you want to understand it above a brainlet level

It's all like shadows man, nothing is real dude. You have to like open your mind or something.

So basically there's a cave and people in it sand then they pee pee poo poo

Nice bunker. Gives me ideas for my own.

None of this bullshit The allegory pertains to the theory of forms and how people who are unable to conceptualise the world beyond their mere bodily senses are stuck in a prison of appearances. Basically, forms supersede the material.

it takes a while, but you'll get there

You're in a hell that you're barely capable of even imagining
Now look around, and imagine that what you see is real
That's your hell and you have no fucking idea that it is
The fact that you don't know it is, that's the big trick

Attached: 1642601108448.jpg (600x759, 51.8K)

The reality is fake.

Only few will escape the mind prison and find the real truth which is totally different from what we are feeling.

That's the guy outside is in a completely different environment

it would be so easy if there was just one cave

The prisoners in the cave only know one interpretation of reality rather than seeing it as it is in its entirety. That interpretation is in the hands of those who control the shadows that get cast on the wall which the prisoners rely on to learn about the world. The shadows can change at will or contradict themselves but it doesn't matter because they are the only source of knowledge for the prisoners.
There are some scenarios upon discovering the truth,
If one prisoner were to break free and escape the cave they would be blinded by the light of the real world and unable to comprehend what they see, which would compel them to go back to the comfort of the cave. This would convince the others that seeking truth is not worth it.
Another prisoner could accept reality and attempt to go back inside and free the other prisoners. Unfortunately the other prisoners don't want to be freed, they fear the unknown, they think he is crazy, the shadows are the truth and there is nothing more to it.
TL;DR: it's the plot of The Matrix

Try to turn your perception away from whatever is playing on the eyes (cave wall). It is as if your head is locked to this wall.
Plato was letting you know that there's a world out there beyond the limited perception of the sense organs; that you can make your way there; that you would be happier a servant in the real world than a king chained in the cave.
Plato wasn't talking theoretically, but from the perspective of the man who had left the cave, and returned to tell his fellow cave-prisoners about it.
You can leave the cave, user.

To go further:
If you realized it was an ilusion, then your entire universe would die
Everything you ever loved would die, and you would die with it
Now tell me
How brave are you
Because I think you're a faggot

Interesting that you mention this. I was thinking about something similar today.
>you can either serve in heaven or rule in hell
Heaven can be conceptualized as the truth. You are always in service to it and never its master. Lies you can be king of and they are something you can control since you can create them.
The difference between heaven and hell is the difference between lies and truth. You can either serve the truth or be a master of lies.
Satan = king of lies

you know when some nothingburger gets extremely popular and you start believing everything you see on Any Forums?
>thats the cave
you know how you sometimes realize that you've spent 3 weeks believing the LARPs of 16 year olds on Any Forums
>leaving the cave

it's just some old dudes understanding of propaganda and echochambers
extremely based, irrefutable, even

Thanks

is that really what you think it's supposed to be?

Could you give an example of a double plato cave?

The truth would delete you
No special robe man to save you
Bare soul against the void
Christians always cry jeebus into the Void right before they are disassembled

this but literally infinite caves

Look inward. Understand yourself before you attempt to understand the world.
Humble yourself and have the humility to entertain the idea that you know absolutely nothing about yourself.
You might find that some of your deeply held beliefs, and things you believe to be central to your identity are false and have nothing to do with you, and were perhaps planted there by external actors.

Kircher Magic Lamp
Kircher Megaphone
Kircher Germ Theory

NPC's would rather not know the truth even if your argument started to persuade them logically because they are only comfortable with what they've known and so prefer it.

Not a Christian. It's a good metaphor.

Platocuck favorite. Spammed by fedoras like nothing else.

>muh nazis are evil
>muh jews and nigs are evil
Nope, It was me all along

Perfect example of fedoras REEEEing into the cosmos. Fedoras are spiritual kikes. They hate kikes like no other beings.

you are living in a trance-like state. Read Mouravieff's Gnosis. Gurdjieff's too though his is confused introductory material

allegory of the cave is all about LIGHT.

Its not about the shadows at all. Plato was an initiate in the mysteries, but since it was not allowed to explicitly share the secrets of the mysteries with the swine (on penalty of death), Plato encoded some of the teachings into allegories in his writing. The cave is not the only one.

Plato had an idea of two worlds.

One being the ”idea world” where the perfect form of everything exists, this is where he argued our souls exist before they’re drawn into the physical realm. The other being the ”sensory world” the world we exist in.

Platos theory of knowledge was that we cannot know anything precisely by sensing, or experiencing because the sensory world is to the idea world what a shadow on the wall is in the cave to the thing outside the cave that cast the shadow

The idea of ”breaking free” of the cave is his way of saying that, philosophy, or the act of rationally ”thinking” your way to an answer is the true way to know something, not to ”experience” it because you could as well be ”experiencing” a shadow, which would be ”real” to you, since you don’t know better.

The cave is niggers. When you are outside there are no niggers.

Your petty faith is a myth
You look to a man to save you, but the Man is God amirite?
>You might find that some of your deeply held beliefs, and things you believe to be central to your identity are false and have nothing to do with you, and were perhaps planted there by external actors.
This is you, speaking to yourself

It's caves all the way up.
There is no escape.

This. Baudrillard when talking about The Matrix (the movie is loosely based on simulacra and simulation) said they got the one and done redpill cure wrong. The reality of The Matrix is you never know if you still have one foot in the door. It's trickier than a simple binary and in fact the false dichotomy is a neat little trick of The Matrix.
>Coke or Pepsi
>Democrat or Republican
>Red or Blue
>Christian or Atheist
It's the illusion of choice.

>This is you, speaking to yourself
Ironic since I'm not a Christian. I think you might be projecting.

the shadows in the cave are made by your own mind
not any outside force, outside of the cave you find
man made horrors beyond your comprehension

you just used more words to say the same thing, retard.

such a stupid thing to ask

Then you deny Jesus, correct?

In what respect?

Platos cave allegory is not a ”matrix” thing. Because it’s just one of many examples he gives around his knowledge theory.

Plato was a rationalist, as opposed to an empiricist like Aristotle.

Platos entire idea, was that our senses decieve us, and that our ”souls” coming from this same ”aether realm” of the perfect form idea of everything already ”know” everything. And the only way to understand the world is via introspection and reason, rationality.

These things of Plato and his buddies are all bullshit. You should see the four methodical doubts of Rene Descartes.

Do you deny Jesus is God?

The light (truth/god) outside the cave would be so bright you would die, best you can do is see the jews (evil) swinging shapes (lies) at npc.
Know thyself my fren, we're fine here
