I feel like I lost all of my get gud'ness from Souls games. Still haven't beaten the first boss yet, tho tbf I haven't played more than 8 hours.
You have to bear in mind that this is a much larger game than the previous Souls games. Prepare to sink around 80 hours in at least. You could also go south before you fight Godrick. There's another castle in ruin to explore.
