They most likely are. The biggest problem right now is an information gap between what we're getting from the Ukrainian side (tons of video footage, pictures, testimonies, etc.) and the very scarce information being released by the Russians.

Judging from the maps, Russia seems to be making steady progress, but we have almost no Russian front-line information to corroborate anything.

A lot of people expected this to be over within hours, but comparing this offensive to similar one-sided battles, it took the Germans almost a month to conquer half of Poland.
