Because Ukraine, a European nation of geopolitical value, whose people large largely western in culture, is currently being invaded and being toppled by a brutal dictator who heads a corrupt state-capitalist kleptocracy. Easy. Ukrainians are easy to integrate and also easy to put in our workforce. There are already tons of Ukrainians working in Germoney. Also they flee from actual war and not because their country is a black hellhole.
