If we remove all the borders that means that everyone in africa/south america/etc can move to more wealthy areas without any barriers and steal your jobs or whatever.
A world government sounds nice but do you think that one government could properly govern the entire world considering how diverse it is?
Big government = it's even harder to pass amendment-like legislature. Remember how hard people had to fight to pass literally any of the amendments? Imagine if you had to get most of the world on board, not just the US.
Maybe if we had a system that enforced international laws would be one thing so at least everyone had their human rights, but I don't think more than that is possible.
