As someone that watches a lot of his stuff he's just an idealistic socialist in a lot of ways. Absolutely disagree with a lot of his views on how good his end goal is going to work out, especially stuff like his anti police stance or thinking that just rediverting money from the defense budget will solve America's homeless issue. But I see no contradictions between him being a socialist and having good anti-neocon takes. It's not different from how someone on the left can like a lot of what Pat Buchanan and Tucker Carlson says about neocons, and for it to still be logical for them (within their framework etc) to remain leftists even if they're on the side of a paleocon that one time.
