This war is really a capeshit movie to people online today. Why? Because it isn't real to them, they're just following it from their phone screens. It's about as real to them as a movie. Their brain still isn't processing that there is an actual war in Ukraine and people are dying, that violence in real life actually has meaning and finality, that we are bound to real life rules.
The painful truth is that there are no Ghosts of Kiev, no Dumbasses of Donbass, no Odessa Ass Bandits, only normal people doing their jobs and making the ultimate sacrifices because they're mere cogs in bigger machines. In reality there are no superheroes, no world revolving around you, only reality reigns - death is often pointless, and many men and women are gracelessly murdered by decisions made by those above them.
But the brains of today are so disconnected from participating in true conflict or seeing it as reality or GOD FORBID being drafted or having their city get bombed that they can only see it through capeshit glasses. It's no realer to them than Captain America, or Avengers: Endgame. So they conflate those events with reality, because why shouldn't they? They live sheltered easy lives, trained from birth to swallow propaganda and repeat it with no scrutiny. I welcome the possibility of nukes, the human race has arrived to a point where sweet release is the cleansing we need.
