France in WW2

It doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever.
The French were superior in number AND quality, and they knew very well that they could fight off Germans as seen in WW1.
I don't understand the memes, they've a great military history otherwise, how could they mess up so badly.

>and they knew very well that they could fight off Germans as seen in WW1.
they could barely hold off half the german forces with help from the brits and amer*cans
>they've a great military history otherwise
1870/71

Churchill bombed Germany first
So far, the largest banker war to date

They didn't feel like having their cities leveled, since they didn't care about the outcome. How would France be worse off today if Germany had won the war?

I think the French secretly supported the Germans. Hell it's not even that much of a secret, there were so many French in the foreign SS and fucking Philip Petain brokered peace with the Germans after the surrender.

our military is 15 000 faggots basically armed with shit rifle , shit equipment , shit commanders , shit everything , terrorists from african country named MALI , just ruined our entire army , the french military is basicallly 0 on any war , you should see their trucks , they are from the last century , they are payed the minimum of the minimum , and are like us army a bunch of pro lgbt mouvement

The was a lot of support for Germany at home. There was extreme antiwar sentiment because France had suffered the most in WW1. There are villages in France that are still so chemically toxic they will never be inhabitable. The Margione Line and it's failure was also psycologically devistating.

>how could they mess up so badly
they learned the wrong lessons from Verdun. simple as.

>outdated WW1 equipment
>outdated tactics vs revolutionary attack tactics from the germans
>relying entirely on muh maginot line, couldn't find out fast enough about the Ardennes
>underestimation of German capabilities
>french generals too full of themselves
>french troops demoralized by new worldwide conflict

It was a cocktail for disaster.

Half the country shared de Gaulle's vision/mantra that a strong europe free from (((Anglosaxon))) control is one that stretches from the Atlantic coasts of Portugal and France to Vladivostok. The other half was openly pro-german under Petain. Why the fuck would they waste their lives for the Anglos? In case for German victory they would see their dream of an (((Anglo))) free Europe realised. In case of allied victory they would be on the winning side and partake on the spoils of war with minimal losses. Win win. The surrender meme is a cope by historylet retards. The French played their hand perfectly whilst the Anglos sent a generation of young men to be massacred so that their grandkids could be gangraped by paki gangs in London.

You forgot:
>best tanks but no radios in them and only here to support infantry instead of making tank battalions

Our army was very good better than the German army but our generals were bad.

You can't understand french military genius:
>shitty army gets wiped in weeks
>enjoys some of the lowest civilian casualties and infrastructure damage in continental europe
>put up a minimal resistance act
>still gets to be part of the victors, get nukes, get a security council seats while the germans are forever depicted as the bad guys

They did mess up though but I agree with I would not be surprised if the mess up was actually part of the plan... If so, that would be the perfect cover up and there ever was one.

Even when we lose, we win

The ministers back then were delusional too. France had spent huge sums of money on constructing the Maginot line on the French-German border based on the experience of WWI trench warfare, and most of the mobile French forces were concentrated on the Belgian border, assuming that the Germans would advance on the Belgian plain again. The area between the Belgian and German borders was only lightly defended because of the hilly Ardennes forest and the assumption that no significant German forces would be able to cross it. Before WW2, people actually visited the area and noted how many new roads had been built. They reported this to the brass, but were predictably ignored. When German armor emerged from the Ardennes and smashed through the French lines, military command was in disbelief. The Maginot line turned out to be completely useless and the Northern French forces were encircled. The Germans were also doping their soldiers up with meth, which kept them awake for 3 days straight. By the time they were approaching Dunkirk, they were already hallucinating.
tldr; generals always fight the previous war

Most armies are shit. The world is tired. This isn't WW2 with millions of conscripts smashing into each other anymore.
Just look at the Russian performance in the Ukraine. Yes, they are holding back and yes, they will win, but even so, the performance is a disaster.

because the french government was listening to jews like bernard baruch and henry morgenthau but the average person had no motivation to go to war

They have a great military record, but 1940 wasn't their finest hour. It happens.

Most diabolical, frogs.
You've got to give credit to the Germans tho, they showed incredible spirit.

germoney, well, the old non-faggot germoney, was always much better than its numbers. plus it didnt help that in may 1940 the allies maneuvered their armies directly into the trap of the germon campaign plan. it was a military miracle.

France was ran by jews back and they just fled the country leaving it defenseless

I don't understand why Britain joined. They should have been neutral like Sweden.
