Take what they want, let the remained be its own dirt poor country. Sanctions? Those will go away. Westerners love money more than anything else. Everytime we put sanctions on a country, we always make exceptions and those exceptions quickly grow for companies that are friends with people in the government. Plus lots of companies just ignore them and pay a fine if caught. There's money to be made trading with Russia and Europe needs Russia's energy exports. There will be no longer term consequences.

Not really. Russia could let Ukraine join NATO. Which wouldn't really effect Russia, they wouldn't be able to bully Ukraine anymore but Ukraine is a poor shithole what does Russia get out of keeping them a puppet? You people cry and moan about how bad the war in Afghanistan and Iraq were for America(and they were) but for some crazy reason you can't see how badly the War on Ukraine is going to effect Russia. Like take a step back and really look at the situation and you'll realize invading Ukraine was the worst move they could make and it's going to have some serious shitty effects on Russia in the short and long term.
