interesting but didn't Jesus say all you need to be saved is to repent and place your faith in him? The thief on the cross next to Christ's was not a Catholic. He never took communion or eucharist of any sort. He simply said to Christ that he is a sinner and asked for forgiveness. Christ told him he will see him in Heaven. Doesn't that prove that Christ will save anybody who repents and has faith in him?

The thief was saved because Christ knew his heart was truly repentant, he was invisibly ignorant, but his faith was real, as He would have done all of these things if he had had the time.
You are not invinsibly ignorant, so you have to be baptized, receive the Eucharist and keep His commandments, that includes being a member of the Church He founded.

Sounds like works based salvation which I don't agree with. Sorry but it doesn't resonate with me. I read the New Testament and it says that Christ is the only mediator between man and the father, and we are saved through faith. I don't discredit your practices but I don't believe they are necessary for salvation. There are tons of Catholics who take eucharist, go to church every Sunday, but won't be saved. The only thing that can save you is Christ.

Galatians was written by Paul. Luther was the most serious devotee of Paul's theology that ever lived. Your statement is invalid.
To expand, Paul taught that Salvation was by faith alone. That was not what Jesus taught, but Jesus revealed this new Gospel to Paul and that is what became true Christianity. The Catholic/Orthodox faiths ignored Paul's revelation.
