Less than 5% of Russia's trade is conducted with the West. And most of that is gas, raw materials and critical aircraft components which aren't subject to sanctions and will continue to flow. The UK has a negative trade deficit with Russia since we mostly sell to them luxury goods. So this hurts the West more than it hurts Russia.

Any outcome where NATO tanks aren't in Ukraine is by definition a win for Russia. They're quite clear in their strategic goals. Unlike the US who invaded Afghanistan and Iraq with no real plan for what they wanted to do with them long term.
