Stinger missiles sent to Ukraine, game changer or flop?

Up to 1000 handheld Stinger have or are being smuggled into Ukraine to kill Russian air superiority.

Problem: Stingers can only effectively kill targers up to 3000 meters up. That means choppers and low flying airplanes and transport airplanes... or jets taking off.

Russia has a sophisticated airforce, their jets effectively cannot be shot down by stingers. Now, their transport choppers can be shot down... and even attack choopers, but it has been 4 days and I have only seen a vid of 2 choppers that were apparently damaged but still landed (unclear if really shot down).

Are Stingers useless? Which would mean Western support is useless?

Explain to me how an older model Russian helicopter or SU-25 cannot be shot down when it's out of flares.

Killing Russian troops with NATO weapons? You might as well send in troops directly to fight Russia. There is no difference.

how is he wrong, arming non-NATO countries is against international law. it's effectively a proxy war which euro faggots don't want to fight themselves.

They have been doing that for fucking decades retard. From Vietnam to Syria.

no shit, at no point did I say it was acceptable

>Explain to me how an older model Russian helicopter or SU-25 cannot be shot down when it's out of flares.
Simply flying high enough

No, that's more risky akchually

>Which would mean Western support is useless?
I think the real question is.

How much of this shit is going to end up in Russian hands?

Like sending aid to Ukraine is great and all, but it becomes A LOT more difficult logistically to do in the middle of an occupation, especially when Russia controls so much of the country and has Kiev surrounded etc

I cannot tell if these are actual reports or made up.

“Russia has a sophisticated Air Force”

No they don’t . They have always had shitty planes and a shitty Air Force.

You sir are a nitwit and a charlatan.

>No, that's more risky akchually
How? Above 3km Stingers do not work, they run out of juice

They will be sold in the black market within a couple of weeks. Thay will be a game changer around some European airport

>how is he wrong, arming non-NATO countries is against international law.
Russians armed the Donbas separatists first.

Im sure ukies have radar missiles tho?

Sweet summer zoomer

>Im sure ukies have radar missiles tho?
If they did Russia wouldn't have a constant stream of helicopters flying in/out of the country.

They have been killing russians using nato weapons for nearly three days now.

Would you actually attack a group of 20 or so attack helicopters with a stinger? They can shoot back, you know? And no, there's no hiding after you've fired that thing.

Good against helicopters, useless against jets, might be good against low and slow fliers and drones.

Which is valuable on its own. The benefits of air superiority is that you can use CAS and your enemy can't. If stingers can keep Hinds at bay and force Su-25s to fly higher than optimal, then they are somewhat effective at protecting ground troops even without destroying anything.

But they fly below radar and get lost in the ground clutter.

Primary helicopter and small drone remover.

OK, retard. I'm sure it would have been no big deal if Russia supplied tons of weapons to the Iraqi government / Saddam loyalists immediately after the US began its military operation. Even if those weapons caused mass US casualties.

Yes, if your goal is to demoralize them and make them waste ammo or delay their arrival to destination. US helicopters in Afghanistan were shot down by US Stingers on a few occasions and the trick the Afghans used was the same against the Soviets, wait for the right moment and strike. There are also distraction shots too like shooting an RPG from one direction have all the aircraft look at that area while somebody Stingers from behind.

Can you reload these things and the other fat green bastards?

Those were supplied mostly before the conflict began.
