Why would you even want to survive in the first place? I think surviving a barrage of nuclear strikes
would be hell on Earth. Imagine the roaming bands of crazies killing each other for resources.

Montana and North Dakota have the last operational missile silos in the US. Also some Wyoming/Colorado. Thats why those places in the middle of nowhere get so many nukes in a tight area. Those are targeted only in the event of a full strike by Russia as no one else has the capability to strike all those targets without leaving themselves totally helpless and at risk of sub attacks etc.

I'm firmly in a luck of the draw scenario. I'm JUST in the safe zone. Less than 5 miles from being in any danger. But some unlucky wind patterns or if I happen to be looking the wrong way I will either get cancer or go blind.
