I think it's a given that King was severely bullied in school. It's one of the themes he's able to portray relatively realistically.

He's been trapped in the Good vs Evil drama since his childhood, it's all black and white, or even religious with him, it makes all his stories seem similar or most if not all.
Also it forces him to stick to the bad guys are horrible with no redeeming qualities while the good guys are flawed but seeking redemption or fighting the last good fight.
His characters lack grey zones mostly predictable plot lines and archetypes.

The predictability is my biggest gripe. Halfway through any Stephen King book, when the character drama is over and it's time for the gay /x/ conclusion, it's always obvious what's going to happen. Just envision the most pleb-tier, stereotypical, gay, campfire ghost story for 4 year olds "BOO!" you can imagine, and that's what happens.
