So these things are just useless in modern warfare?
So these things are just useless in modern warfare?
In urban settings against javelins and stingers, yes.
Yes. They are metal coffins.
yes in urban settings due to javelin and stingers
in open terrain due to drones
>nothing personnel kiddo
eh, its complicated.
Tanks are not getting Javed and stung in urban settings. It's happening in rural areas.
>and stingers
Why are people using MANPADs against tanks?
Tanks also tend to be vulnerable when they run out of fuel. Which I've heard has been a problem for the Russians.
Normally an MBT stays behind the troops and offers high explosive and machine gun support from a distance.
This. Shit just keeps getting more and more complicated with all the new weapons. If you can still use infantry then you can probably find a way to use a tank. And good luck firing anti armour weapons from inside a building. Good way to commit sudoku
I remember in Baghdad, the tank crews would have to put up rows of sandbags on top of the turrets. They could barely maneuver either. By 2006 the tankers were forced to patrol in armored humvees.
they're not, but it might decapitate a commander thats turned out
War is not a game of rock paper scissors you nigger.
They've been getting fucked up in Ukraine, but not everyone has anti-tank missiles though.
They eventually upgraded them with a bunch of shit for urban patrols, but yea I was way happier being on foot.
>Armored humvees
>literal death traps
[Doubt]
No you fucking idiots. Tanks with Trophy are almost immune to ATGMs.
Acts like he shot a buck.
They always have been you may be in a bulletproof tank but your a big target and surrounded by ammunition and fuel that could go off if you get hit if you want nightmare fuel look up ww2 tank burns
I'm told the Abrams can survive AT?
Yes I know about the roof being weak so it would be advantageous to be on top of buildings. But what about the front/side?
well regardless of anything else here's something to think about.
If the enemy has a tank would you rather be on the ground trying to aim a rocket at them or would you rather be in another tank?
I think you'll find that answers your question.
>The Trophy missile defense system deployed with IDF armored units stopped an antitank missile fired by gunmen near the Gaza Strip security fence on Tuesday – the first time it was used during an IDF operation, and the first time a system of this type was successfully battle-tested anywhere in the world.
Everything has a hard counter in the military other than lightly encumbered fighter jets, whose only function is to destroy other jets, and can't do anything else.
That's why people use combined arms. Not every platoon has stingers, and even those that do get countered by tanks with anti missile system.
front/side is pretty well defended, problem are mostly mines
depends on the tech difference of the tanks
>Helicopter dies to a casual SAM
>Tank dies to a casual Javelin
>Human dies to a casual bullet
>Drone also dies to a casual SAM
Are all war implements useless?
>launch missile at tank
>deploys APS
>Launch another missile
>no more APS
Everything is integrated. A tank is useless without helicopters to protect them. Helicopters are useless without tanks to protect the airfields. Information is the most important thing. If your units know where the enemy is, if they don't know where you are, you win.
A $1 billion aircraft carrier can be sunk by a $200,000 torpedo, but good luck finding it and being in range of it at the exact moment you intend to shoot at it.
>t-100 dies to a "woman"
jesus even skynet is useless
they should be power/network/logistics/sensors hubs for rechargeable armed drones and carrying some people around. i wouldnt want to.
FUCKEN NEW ZEALAND!!!
