>wheat
Kek. How much corn do they produce?
>rapeseed
what did they mean by that?
wheats down 8% idiot
Vladimir Gluten
I'm coeliac
Not my problem. The US grows the other half.
Rape fields are very beautiful in person when the rapes are in bloom. Note the similarity with the flag of Ukraine.
you know.
it's cute that you think the only problem with commodity prices increasing is how to make money in the markets.
people in third world shitholes have a big problem when core foodstuff costs increase. that includes America now.
>sunflower
>rapeseed
>basedbeans
these are key inputs for vegetable oils, used in almost all processed food production.
>wonderbread's
There is no grain in that.
they also smell like shit
Oh no I guess we'll have to eat a Paleo diet like our ancestors instead of processed poison
Guess who grows the rest and will be refusing to plant this year unless trudeau resigns?
Meat products eat grain to make meat. Cost increase.
This is not a problem if you are near local farm, in fact it lowers price because your supply will increase. If it needs to be transported, oh boy, 3x price time.
The real issue isn't even the raw prices, which will be absurd. The issue is the chaos. The American public in particular is not at all prepared to deal with chaos - they will lose their minds. Can't wait tbqh senpai.
>refusing to plant
that's a lot easier since fertilizer is unavailable.
and the other 2/3rds are grown here
>grown here
With what fertilizer?
I don't care, this benefits us.
Top producer and exporter.
Not my problem.
>Hurr durr I'll just go hit a deer in my big truck and eats it.
Hard to plant anything when the government seized your bank account and you'd rather plant 85ft of airseeder shovel in a busy highway out of protest than continue participating in a rigged system
They also produce 41% of the planets nitrogen fertilizer supply. Going to be a rough road ahead.
Rapeseed is also known as canola but canola is technically a brand name meaning Canadian-Oil. The rapeseed gets it's name from the latin word rapium, which means turnip.
the best part is you can't just fix the fertilizer problem when the war ends. there is this thing called a growing season. this is setting up to be REALLY bad for the US/Europe by Autumn.
The US could easily make the switch from Corn to Wheat production if the money is there, and all it would take is for some precious subsidies.
USA exports more corn than Russia does wheat
You watch too much Psycho Pass
It’s actually closer to a quarter, which is still by far the largest region in the world for wheat.
Canada and USA together don’t even come close to a quarter - with the balance in Canadas favour at roughly 9:1
Packaged products made from wheat will be affected worldwide, but in North America we wouldnt feel this as much because we can still sustain ourselves without Eastern European wheat. Canada has successfully pushed for more of our own high quality wheat to be made into packaged products like pasta etc over the years by giving Grain subsidies to allow the more expensive local wheat to make it into less expensive products at our grocery stores.
Interesting to see how it plays out with Russia/UKR.
Nerds nitrogen.
Why would the US do that? The people there subsist on corn syrup alone
Why do you act like Nitrogen is some rare earth mineral that literally can't be made anywhere on Earth?
Ice age farmer talked about it yesterday.

>all inputs are transferrable
also, the cost for USA to export is increasing. what's going on is the USA is promising to backstop europe for all commodity shortfalls. this will take the supply from the US and export-profit market. Prices domestically will skyrocket and foreign buyers (third world) will be fucked over. This is not a long term strategy for success.
Dont worry, I bought CF stock before this started kek
ammonia and potash are the real problem
Do you think they pull it out of the atmosphere or something?
We grow the other 2/3.
No they wouldn’t.
Monsanto genetically modified corn seeds are the reason for the entire US corn based economy. And they’re not going anywhere…
USA buys a lot of wheat from Canada, and we buy corn from USA - Powers that be don’t like upsetting those balances.
This.
quadrotriticale
Prices going up is healthy for american farmers although the increased fertilizer costs will have to be built into new operating loans which will be a negative.
keep us posted
jew theatre...
>Laughs in Kansan
>I bought stock for the end of civilization
LOL!
Understandable that Poland dislikes the smell of money, they are not accustomed to it
Actually Canada and USA together supply a little more than 1/8 of the world supply much less than Russia and Ukr.
Canada (5th) also out produces USA for wheat by a large margin.
Corn is the crop of the USA.
