If Russia is getting BTFO by Ukraine, why are other countries lining up to give Ukraine billions of dollars in aid, weapons and supplies to support them? They seem to be doing fine without it according to all of the 'reports'.

Don't these people understand that the best scenario right now is a very swift russian victory? Russia is gambling a lot on this and they simply cannot afford to lose it. So, if things DO start going bad for them they will just bring an even heavier hand, leading to more civilian casualties, increasing the chances of mistakes and possibly hitting nato, not to mention giving China more time to go for Taiwan.

Is it possible Putin has been sitting back and allowing for this to look like an actual battle where anyone can win as justification for some massive bombing? I can't see that as good economically - leveling Kyiv hardly makes sense if you want to capture and use it.
