I don't mean to be a fag but I don't understand why people think he's insane. He gave two long speeches with pretty precise historical justifications (in his mind) as to why this what necessary, even conceding that Russia has corruption issues just like he thinks Ukraine does, and gave several points like Moscow potentially being nuked within 5 minutes easily if Ukraine joined NATO.
He also constantly repeated that this was a last step, that he even asked Clinton if joining NATO was possible a while back, and that this is a necessary self-preservation tactic if they hope to defend against NATO going forward.
I haven't seen anyone on this board or the media talk about this. Did they just not watch his full speech? I'm a fucking retard when it comes to geopolitics but he gave a pretty sound and even laboured reason for doing what he's doing. Even if the results are fucked up - brushing him aside as insane is lazy

Russia’s low level troops are pretty pathetic. Honestly like nigger tier.
But they’ve made great gains. They’re in the Capitol. Difficult to imagine Ukraine will be able to muster pushing Russian forces back.
Ukraine will be tapped out in supplies soon in these cities in which Russia deploys their remaining 70% of reserves and swallows the country whole.
With that said, Ukrainian defense is impressive

He definately was significantly pushed towards it with the continual take over of ex Soviet states in Europe, Belarus being the latest attempt, still don't think this was neccasarily the right move as he would have had an even larger share of European energy dependence once the new pipeline is running.

I think he's fed up with seeing Russia lose status in the world, and as a diehard old KGB-bred spook, he is using the Wests decline (and milquetoast leadership) to make a move that, frankly, the U.S. hasn't had issues making in the past 20 years. Then you have American meddling in Ukraine during the Obama years, growing cozier to the West on his borders.... think of it like Mexico becoming a prostitute to China, Iran, Russia, NK, shitty African nations, etc., with repeated provocations.
