vaccine mRNA gets retro-transcribed into DNA which then happily floats about in the cell getting transcribed into protein
two problems:
it is not clear that your cells will ever STOP producing the viral spike protein (hello neverending autoimmune disease)
it is not clear that this DNA does not get embedded into your cells' genome on the next replication event (hello cancer)

It's not really a gene mod tool, any mRNA could be integrated to the genome this way, including the covid-19 genome itself. It's not necessary for the vaccine to function as intended, just a potential outcome.

It's also just a single part of the virus, while the actual infection includes far more genes to potentially incorporate into the genome.

Expecting the general population to have any realistic understanding of immunology or molecular biology is going to drive you insane. The long term consequences of any new medication is going to be impossible to fully predict. It's neither mass sterilization or entirely risk free. But the same is also true of a new virus evolving to a new host species.

Yeah, but those are natural effects that have been occurring for thousands of years and possibly even before the human species. Anyone susceptible to adverse effects would've fallen out of the gene pool. This is something completely new and it might take years to find out if it's truly harmless.
