I mean, you wouldn't fire a missile that can fly around the globe without having a nuclear warhead. However, ICBM's on ground are quite redundant for nations. You should be worried about sea- and air-based ones, as those are very difficult to detect.

I wish to remind you that living in the middle of nowhere doesn't mean shit, if you an Air Force base nearby. I was stationed in Malmstrom AFB over at Great Falls Montana. It's literally a town that you can drive from one end to the other in 5 mins. It hosts a Nuclear Weapons Storage Area, right next to it's deactivated flight line, but more importantly you have network of nuke silos all across the state of Montana hosted on farmer's land; the basic definition of bum fucken nowhere. Guess what? Places like that are literally the first place Russia will nuke first to avoid nuclear retaliation, then when all the nukes are destroyed while they are still underground, THEN they will start firing on major population centers like cities.
